Tea Parties are about us all
It astounds me that the fiscal irresponsibility of the government is trying to be turned into a one sided political concern, i.e. just conservatives or just Republicans. Those who tout themselves as liberal and want to put down the Tea Parties are either benefiting from our government’s irresponsible spending, very naive, or simply very callous.
The Tea Parties are for everyone because the government’s out of control spending doesn’t just affect conservative people or moderates or liberals. It affects us all. This isn’t about your political leaning. This is about your future, your children’s future, and your grandchildren’s future. I do not ally myself with any political party and never have. And more people need to care a lot less about what political party they belong to and more about what the politicians are actually doing. Unfortunately most people can’t or don’t want to see past the ends of their noses.
I would wager, though, that many of those who are belittling these Tea Parties are much like those who were in the King’s pocket at the time of the original Tea Party in Boston. They would have been very much against that Tea Party, as well, because it threatened their meal ticket, i.e. their tie to the monarchy.
Of course people want to ignore these Tea Parties or dismiss them as conservative nonsense because they too are in the King’s pocket. They would lose their meal ticket if the citizens of this country are successful at making their voices heard and actually changing things. And if they can convince people that all of this is nonsense and just an attempt at imposing ultra-conservative values on everyone by a strictly conservative movement, these Benedict Arnold’s will have succeeded at not only keeping their meal ticket, but at keeping us enslaved to a large Government, similar to that which our forefathers fought to free us from, that makes sure their loyal subjects are well supplied with our hard-earned dollars. This is still a fight for our independence.
